There are multiple risks that Roundup presents to the environment. One being that when Roundup is sprayed/applied to a crop, it leaches crucial nutrients and fungi from the soil, which can potentially inhibit generations of plants to grow. Another risk is that it affects not only the crop, but also the organisms that live within the crop, such as worms, insects, and mice. When the herbicide enters the organism's body, it acts like a toxin and kills the organism. The depletion of that specific organism in that area affects everything around it, like the prey it eats and the predators that prey on it in a negative way. If Roundup runs or blows into water, it can affect the aquatic environment as well because of its toxicity to the organisms.
